Dublin, however, is facing into a night of cold with temperatures between zero and two degrees, with sleet forecast - but that could fall as snow.
Snow has been heavy in several parts of the country this week, but it's largely been restricted to higher land. This evening's fall in the capital could continue as temperatures drop overnight.
