For his part the President released a statement congratulating Ireland for reaching the last 16 of Euro 2016 last night. He even thoughtfully praised Northern Ireland for their massive achievement of qualifying as well.

The President has yet to decide on if he will run for a second term in office and it would seem he'd walk in given the love that’s out there for him at the moment.
Although, he’s lucky Robbie Brady can’t run until he’s 35.
