Tens of thousands of fish have clogged the Shinnecock Canal in New York.
ABC7 reports that the school of Atlantic menhaden were trapped when the canal was closed at 3am on Monday.
The New York Department of Environmental Conservation said: “The large school of fish was most likely chased into the canal by other predatory fish.”
Locals have been expressing concern on Twitter, one wrote “not a good sign”.
It looks apocalyptic. We’d be worried too.
