As with all rocket launches, a crowd had gathered a safe distance away to watch - but they did not expect to see the devastation that followed.
While they watched in horror as the unmanned rocket blew up, a loud explosion can be heard around the 16-second mark, two seconds before and the powerful shockwave hits the spectators.
You can clearly see heads roll backwards at the sheer force the shockwave generates.
A pilot flying nearby also captured the disaster on his iPad.
The craft owned by Orbital Sciences Corporation was travelling to the International Space Station to supply 5,000lbs worth of supplies to the six people up there.
Thankfully no injuries were reported from the blast after it had been aborted the day before because a yacht had strayed into the hazard zone before the first attempted take-off.
Nasa is said to be paying billions of dollars to Orbital Sciences and the SpaceX company to make station deliveries - that agreement is now likely to come under public scrutiny.
