After this week’s shocking news that Jacobs would not be including the jelly star in the Afternoon Tea selection this year, people were predictably outraged with many worrying what they would eat with their tea this Christmas.
Well, one enterprising soul has put a box of last year’s Afternoon Tea up for sale on DoneDeal.ie and is asking for
for it.‘Mary’ from Wexford says she "did a bulk buy last year in case anyone I had forgotten about happened to land in with a Christmas present (always good to have that extra tin so you look prepared!)".
She also says they’re still in date.
Hmm…
Not only are we a bit suspicious that a tin of biscuits survived in that house for almost a year without someone getting peckish, we’re also not sure we want to spend that much on a biscuit.
Especially when people are starting to come up with their own versions.
An enterprising bakery down in Cork has come up with their own version after 96FM amped up their #JusticeForJelly campaign on Twitter.
So @Jacobs_IRL won't come on air re #justice4jelly... But look what Hassett's Bakery have made! #cork pic.twitter.com/aJ29IDb6IQ

We will admit it does look good. But it’s just not the same…
