Snoop Dog sets off hotel fire alarm, chills with firefighters
An early-morning call to a hotel fire might not be the best start to the day for an emergency worker, but for an Australian fire team, it was the chance to meet a pretty big star.
MFB – that's Melbourne Fire Brigade – responded to a "false alarm" at a Melbourne hotel early this morning, only to discover Snoop Dogg chillin' out in his room.
The alarm call was sent automatically when a smoke detector went off, and when the response team arrived, they found the world-famous rapper opening the door.
“He was pretty funny, a really nice guy. If you didn’t know that he was someone famous you would just think he was a really nice guy,” one of the crew, Tervor Bowen, is quoted as saying in Australian paper The Age.
And Snoop wanted some snaps for his Instagram feed because "he had always wanted to be a firefighter."
A spokesperson for the MFB said they could not comment on why the smoke alarm went off in the hotel room.
The rapper has been the subject of some controversy down under during his tour there, as he has shared several photos of what appear to be marijuana joints.
