Local People Before Profit councillor Gino Kenny helped organise an impromptu solidarity meeting for the family and many neighbours turned up to “show their disgust at this vile act.”

In a show of solidarity, a group of volunteers then arrived at the house to clean off the graffiti.

Speaking to breakingnews.ie, Cllr Kenny said there were about ten people there in total, including a few local kids and they used a special solution to remove the paint from the door and window of the house.

“The kids were great as they got really stuck in to remove the paint. If there was anything positive to come out of the last week it is that the neighbours and community have rallied around the family to show the individuals who did this that they will never be representative of them.”

In a statement, People Before Profit said that the neighbours of the road “are sickened by what’s happened and want the family to stay”.

“The family that have been targeted have been living in the estate for past six years. The family are a very quiet family and have a very good relationship with their neighbours.”

Racism is a cancerous poison that needs to be weeded out and isolated by solidarity and neighbours and communities coming together.”

“The acts of a few will never intimate the many."

Gardaí in Clondalkin are investigating the incident.
