Panic stations in Roscommon as child locks key in ballot box

Two male counters had to cut the lock off a ballot box in South Roscommon this morning as the key for the lock went missing.

It was soon realised, that it was a child at the Hyde Center who had mistakenly placed the key inside the box.

Whooopps!

The box contained votes from the Rahara area.

Returning officer Mary Raftery recruited fellow counters to cut the lock off the box after fits of laughter from the crowd.
