New dance craze shakes things up

We all know Gangnam Style, but have you heard of the Harlem Shake?

The Korean dance craze has been kicking up a storm recently, but it seems another dance from the '80s is coming back into vogue.

The "Harlem Shake" made its way into rap videos in the '90s and has now been taken up by US trapstar Baauer who has released a single of the same name.

The founder of the dance in the 1980s, Al B, has called the dance "a drunken shake" and "an alcoholic shake" and we think you will see why from the clips below.

According to Harlem Shake afficionados, yes there are such people apparently, there are some rules to doing it properly.

1. Someone must be wearing a mask. Check.

2. Nobody can laugh or smile while dancing. Fail, but we still like it.

3. When there is a group of people dancing, there must be someone convulsing or having a seizure. Check. Kenneth Håkonsen of Norway posted this clip only yesterday, we presume these aren't actual soldiers.

4. Go batshit crazy. Check, purely because the granny on the right starts picking her nose.

5. Be unique. Check.
