Mother arrested after making daughter wear this t-shirt to school

A mother in the US has been arrested after she allegedly sent her daughter to school wearing a t-shirt to shame her into getting better grades.

In it, the t-shirt says: "So back off, before I get another good woopin (sic) like I got last night."

The mother, Melany Joyce Alexander, also stated on the piece of clothing that her daughter "eating french fries and being a social butterfly is over".

Staff at West Hernando Middle School in Florida were concerned about what was said on the t-shirt and contacted police.

They arrested the 30-year-old mother for hitting her daughter with a metal-studded belt that left marks on her body.
