The incident took place this week in Lincoln, Nebraska after staff at Madsen's Bowling and Billiards were alerted to the fact that the three-year-old was inside the machine, happily playing with the toys.
Engineers from the vending machine company had to be called to free the boy, who was uninjured.
At the same time, police had been called to the house of a 24-year-old mom nearby, who had reported her son missing after he slipped out a back door while she wasn't looking.
Happily, police put two and two together and mom and son were soon reunited.
Reports said that the kid was given a toy from the machine as a souvenir of his adventure.
