Mesmerising disappearing objects are very cool

Now this is cool.

Simon Gerbaud sanded away a millimetre at a time to create these disappearing objects. The compilation of hundreds of photos gives the illusion of the objects disappearing piece-by piece.

The full video shows lots of his experiments in this field, with varying degrees of clean-up along the way. The piñata and ram's skull from nine minutes on are both very creepy - for different reasons.

German artist Laurin Dopfner also used this technique in her 2012 video, "Verschleif".
