It’s the type of story to make you feel better about the world and since it's a Friday now is the perfect time to share it.
An American family lost a member at sea recently when their 8-month-old Shiba Inu puppy Ryder slipped out of his harness and went swimming while out boating.
The family told FOX61 that they trekked the sea for hours looking to find their furry friend and even got the Coastguard involved to help out.
Back on land the family were not giving up hope despite their worst fears and they began a social media campaign to see if anyone in the local area had found their pet.
Thanks to social media, the post was shared over 100 times, but if it was not for one shrewd equine vet, the Shaw family might never have found their puppy again.
The vet saw the lost post and recognised the dog as the same animal he had seen in a lost and found Facebook group.
He put two and two together and put the Shaw family in touch with the people who had found their puppy at sea.

Ryder’s saviours said they had found him swimming in the middle of the sea and pulled him into their boat late the night he was lost.
The family say they are delighted to have Ryder back in their lives and are very thankful to everyone involved in getting him home.
