Santa Claus may need to pick up some tips from Batman and Superman after receiving a request to help the police catch bad guys.
Seven-year-old Christian Hickey, from Salford in England, has strong faith in Santa’s endless abilities, so much so that it is the first item on his list to the North Pole for Santa to get involved in some vigilante action.
Little Christian and his mom Jayne were both injured when they opened the door to two men. One of the men had a gun and he shot them both in the leg.
The incident led the two to be hospitalised but they are now at home and on the road to recovery.
Being the season of goodwill, Christian wrote his letter to Santa with a list of things he wanted most in the world and top of the list was enlisting Santa’s help to catch the men who hurt him and his mom.
Santa has his hands full this year so we are not sure if he will manage to get involved in police duties but thankfully the police have said they are determined to catch the people responsible and are working hard on the case.
Detective Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson of the Greater Manchester Police Serious Crime Division said: “It is heart wrenching to know that a little boy who should be writing a list filled with exciting gifts, has got this at the top of his Christmas list.
“What happened to Christian will stay with him for the rest of his life but what we can do is try to make this up to him by finding those responsible and bringing them to justice.
“These people have absolutely no place in civilised society and we remain as determined as ever to find them.
“We are continuing to appeal for information and I would like to urge anybody who may know something to please get in touch.”
Lets hope Christian gets his Christmas wish.
