A photo of a little Filipino boy doing his homework on the street by the light of McDonalds is going viral after being posted to Facebook.
The pic was taken in Cebu in the Philippines by medical student Joyce Gilos Torrefranca. She posted it to Facebook with the caption "I got inspired by a kid".
She told Rappler why.
"As a student, it gave me an inspiration to work harder. I'm fortunate my parents were able to send me to school. I seldom go to coffee shops to study, but this kid just hit me. You really don't need much, you just have to be determined and focused on the things that you want to achieve."
"I hope that this kid will inspire millions of people"
The kid is nine-year-old Daniel Cabrera and he chose that place as it has the best light to see his work.
Daniel's family got into financial difficulty when his father passed away. Today, he and his mother, Christina Espinosa, and seven-year-old brother, Gabriel live in a nearby food stall where Christina works.
The manager of the McDonalds told Rappler that the two brothers sometimes beg outside. The staff know them well and usually give them water, they have also promised them toys if they do well in school.
"Daniel wants to get a toy. I told him that if he will be able to show us a paper with a star, we'll give him and his brother toys," restaurant manager Iris Prak said
Daniel obviously takes his education very seriously. When asked why he keeps a rosary in his bag, he said it was to protect his only pencil after his last one was stolen by a fellow student.
And he also has lofty goals:
"I think I want to be a policeman....I also want to be a doctor."
