Interational action superstar and man-you-don't-ever-want-to-f**-with Liam Neeson has lent his dulcet (and slightly menacing) tones to a new TV ad campaign for the Northern Ireland tourist board.
The NITB have enlisted the Ballymena man's very particular set of skills (acquired over a very long career) to entice visitors to experience the touristic pleasures of the province.
Or else.
"Visit Northern Ireland," he says in a threatening manner*.
"Or I will find you, and I will kill you."
"The Ballymena-born acting legend, star of a string of blockbuster movies including Schindler’s List, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Taken, provides the unmistakable voice-over in the NITB’s new spring campaign," the NITB said.
Neeson, who last year was awarded the Freedom of Ballymena, said he was delighted to be involved in the campaign.
"I’ve always maintained that Northern Ireland is the world’s best kept secret, both in the character of its people and its scenery," he said.
" I’m delighted to be part of this exciting campaign to promote the treasures of my home land."
Anyway, he's right. It's very nice up there. We recommend the fish and chips in the Portaferry Hotel, and not because Liam knows where we live.
*Not really. Come
