It's good news Friday - bank holiday edition

It’s the BANK HOLIDAY weekend and what better way to celebrate by hearing some good news!

We - as always - asked you to share your good news with us on Facebook and Twitter and we’ve had a smile ear to ear reading your replies all day.

Of course the topic on everyone’s lips is the upcoming bank holiday and mid-term break!

This of course means the smallies are off for a whole week much to Fiona Donnelly, Edel Norris, Claudia O'Shea and Jennifer Carthy’s delight.

Though most of you like Samantha Kenny, Lorna Madden and Victoria Lawlor are just simply delighted with a whole three days off without setting your alarm.

Oh and it’s Samantha's birthday too.

Happy Birthday Samantha!

While Samantha’s out celebrating the rest of us will be enjoying that infamous extra hour sleep!

Bridget Teahan Condon simply plans to “Sleep, sleep and sleep some more.”

While Noreen Healy even bought a new bed for the occasion.

Mark White then reminded us after this weekend our next bank holiday is Christmas day.

Let the Christmas countdown begin.

In other good news some of you were celebrating the little things in life.

Alan Rossiter got 2 Yorkies for the price of one in the vending machine.

Erinna Behal is just happy its not raining and Jackie Finnegan found a iphone today and handed it into a shop.

Fair Play Jackie!

Though from the small things comes the big things.

Sal Donnelly is almost cancer treatment free and as she only has two sessions to go and Lyns McKeown found out last night that her father in law is officially in remission!

Well Done Guys!

John M Hosford Snr’s daughter is coming home from Australia for Christmas after three years away.

Whooooo!

And Frank Walsh’s daughter surprised everyone by arriving home today from Kuala Lumpar to support Cork City DC in the final game of the SSE Airtricity League tonight.

And of course best of luck to Dundalk FC.

Overall we think Sandra Dempsey summed it all into one “It’s a bank holiday - need we say more?”

Did we mention we were excited?

And our winners are:

Alan Rossiter, Jackie Finnegan, Sal Donnelly, Mark White and John M Hosford Snr.

Congratulations!

Enjoy the Bank Holiday everyone.

Stay safe!
