Ireland prop Cian Healy has never been a shy one and this morning he has released a hilarious video in order to win tickets for Electric Picnic for our heroic women’s rugby team.
Having made the semi-finals of the recent Women’s Rugby World Cup and toppling New Zealand in the process, Cian felt the girls deserved a treat.
Electric Ireland has been asking their Twitter followers to post videos of themselves mining power ballads to win tickets for the popular music festival.
.@clionalynch We’ll give 4 @EPfestival tickets to the IRFU women’s team if @properchurch enters a #PowerBallads video! #coygig

In an effort to get the team tickets Cian and his friend Sam O’Byrne decided to go into the planning phase to perform Bonnie Tyler’s smash 80s hit Total Eclipse of the Heart.
@ElectricIreland if it gets the @IrishRugby girls to EP I'll take the hit!

With that phase complete Cian and Sam headed to the candle lit piano (how power ballad of them) to perform their piece and the results were spectacular! We have to say the wig is quite a fashionable look for the rugby star and maybe slightly better than his Movember look (only slightly).
Speaking to breakingnews.ie Sam told us the painstaking effort that went into making the clip.
“After Electric Ireland challenged Cian he wasn’t backing down. Obviously the girls had done so well he wanted to give something back.
“Cian’s sister Adrienne did the make-up and styling, while her boyfriend went into Spielberg mode to film it,” said Sam. “It only took three takes because we had to get the lighting and sound right, it was really good craic to do.”
So there was a couple of things we had to know, firstly where did Cian get that retro robe and where did they get the smoke machine?
Sam was kind enough to clear up both mysteries!
“When I knew we were going to do the video I went up to the attic in my parents’ house and found a few things for it, including the robe.”
“We didn’t have a smoke machine though, it’s actually a kettle!
“Electric Ireland actually gave out to us on Twitter this morning for wasting electricity,” added O’Byrne.
He also confirmed to us that because their effort was so good despite the original offer being for four tickets, Electric Ireland is now going to send the whole team to Electric Picnic!
Good Lord myself and @samobyrne have made a sensational music video!!!!

After the guys were done they then released a trailer on Instagram that made the public clamour for the full version.
The duo obliged and posted the amazing full version on YouTube this morning.
Myself and @samobyrne have decided to release the 2minute version of Total Eclipse tomorrow morning... Just to kick Friday off well !!
