Conradh na Gaeilge, an Irish language organisation, had placed a lovely banner promoting their new courses outside their base on Dublin’s Harcourt Street.
Arriving to work yesterday morning they found the banner missing and decided to check their CCTV footage.
On the video, at 3.14am, a couple of young men decided it was good idea to rip the banner from the railings.
Instead of being dismayed at the loss of the sign Conradh na Gaeilge decided to use the tape to create a fantastic viral response.
While the duo involved are anything but ‘smooth criminals’, we have to say the video is very slick.
We especially love the line reading: “Dar ndoigh tá bealaí níos simplí ann le heolas a fháil ar ranganna.” (There are of course easier ways to get info on our classes)
You can check out Conradh na Gaeilge here. Hopefully the banner will be returned to them.
