An Irish music app has been chosen by America's South by Southwest festival organisers as an 'Accelerator Award' finalist.
The 'Wholeworldband' app for smartphones, made by musician Kevin Godley of 10cc, has beaten off competition from 500 other companies to win the spot.
His product is now one of eight finalists to be judged on March 13 in Austin, Texas.
WholeWorldBand is a music platform where anyone can earn money by recording their own music, or adding to someone else's in sound and vision.
The makers have already signed some major artists for fans to interact with, including Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones, Cathy Davey, Mundy and Liam Ó Maonlaí of the Hothouse Flowers.
Here is Mr Godley in action back in the 70s. "I don't like cricket...I love it". Ah, they don't write lyrics like that anymore.
