Rugby pundit and Newstalk presenter George Hook has hit the headlines today by revealing he “made a stab” at an erotic novel, but it had been rejected by a publisher.
The 72-year-old hit the front page of the Irish Sun today after a conversation about fan fiction on his Newstalk show The Right Hook last Friday took a strange left turn.
Hook was speaking on the subject with guest James Dempsey and the two were discussing how EL James’ smash hit novel Fifty Shades of Grey was born from Twilight fan fiction.
Hook told Dempsey: "I have to say it is one of my great undone challenges. I don't want to sort of parachute jump at age 90 or climb Everest or any of that kind of stuff. I want to publish an erotic novel."
“I want to publish an erotic novel. I made a stab at it, but it was rejected by the publisher.”
The popular radio host even went as far as revealing what his planned plot for the rejected novel was, adding: “It started in Warsaw, this young Polish girl and four members of the German Army…”
As the conversation about fan fiction continued George and his guest then joked about collaborating on doing an erotic fan fiction version of The Good Wife (one of Hook’s favourite TV shows), using the character Kalinda as their inspiration.
“The Further Adventures of Kalinda. I can describe her, the thigh high boots, the six inch heels, the fact that she is of a rather voracious sexual nature,” said Hook.
“Instead of being an Indian girl, we'll move her to Warsaw. She'll be the daughter of the one who was despoiled in 1945 and she will be carrying out a campaign against the sons and daughters of the four guys who despoiled her mother in Kalinsky Street in Warsaw.”
Hook’s plans to pen the erotic novel have not gone well on social media today it seems.
