Five cursed horror film sets to build you up to your Halloween viewing

As you cower down on your couch over the weekend in front of whatever horror flick you dare to watch, think of the poor folk who had the misfortune to be on the cursed movie sets of some of your favourite fright fests.

Here we list five of them. Read on if you dare...

The Crow (1994)

The star, Brandon Lee, had a premonition he would die suddenly. He received a fatal gunshot on set from a prop gun that fired a fragment of a real bullet.

The Poltergeist franchise Three movies made (1982-88)

Four actors dead. Could it have been because the filmmakers used real skeletons during the shoot for the first Poltergeist?

Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Don’t meddle with the devil. Within a year of release, the composer died suddenly of a blood clot and director Roman Polanski’s wife Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family.

The Exorcist (1973)

The Exorcist’s shoot was plagued by inexplicable electrical problems and an unexplained fire. Actor Jack McGowran died of a heart-attack shortly after.

The Omen (1976)

Two planes carrying crew members were struck by lightning within eight hours of one another. When the crew hired a private plane, it crashed onto a busy road, resulting in multiple fatalities.
