A father has posted a YouTube video to draw attention to the racist bullying his daughter has been subjected to on social media.
Brad Knudson lives in Prior Lake, Minnesota with his adopted daughter who is African-American.
In the highly emotional video, Brad replays recordings of the bullies calling his daughter racist, derogatory names over Snapchat. Brad says he then approached the parents of the twins involved only to be told there was nothing wrong with the abuse.
Knudson was then subjected to verbal abuse himself - in the video, he plays back voicemails left by the twins’ father in which he is called a “n**ger lover”.
Local news is reporting that the twins’ father has been reportedly sacked from his job following the incident.
The video has since gone viral with over 1 million views with Knudson being widely praised for standing up for his daughter.
He says he was driven to take a stand against the bullying after a family friend recently lost a child to suicide.
“A week and a half ago some of our very good friends, their son committed suicide at the age of 13 because of bullying. At that point it dawned on me we can’t have this hanging over us and my daughter thinking the worst,” said Brad.
“I have a beautiful African American daughter who I love more than life itself and would do anything for.”
