Everyone's praising Eileen Dunne for getting through last night's Nine O'Clock News

If you were watching the Nine O'clock News last night, you might have noticed that they were suffering from what RTE generously called technical difficulties.

The news didn’t start for a whole 11 minutes, throwing the country’s bedtime routine completely off.

Ads were shown to placate us until finally Eileen Dunne showed up, in a different studio and reading the news old-school - from pieces of paper - as the teleprompter was kaput.

But she, of course, powered through like the professional she is and Twitter had nothing but praise for how she handled herself.

You can check out Eileen's masterclass in keeping your cool on the RTE Player
