Overnight, the internet descended into madness as people all over the world argued over the colour of a dress.
It all started on Tumblr when a a 21-year-old Scottish singer named Caitlin McNeill posted a photo of a dress worn recently to a friend's wedding.
She was asking for help:
"guys please help me - is this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can’t agree and we are freaking the f**k out"
Here's the photo in question:
Clearly it's blue and black right? RIGHT? The question has divided our office as well as social media for
and it looks like the two sides are never going to agree.Take our quiz and help us settle this.
It's not an understatement to say that The Dress has taken over the internet today as people argue back and forth over the colours.
I wonder how many divorce papers will now be filed citing "irreconcilable differences regarding #TheDress "

When future generations look back and try to pinpoint the day human civilisation finally crumbled, this will be the day. #TheDress

And others are trying to explain what's going on - shadows, light, perception.
Shadows and perception of lighting source are important. Blocks A and B are the same color. #TheDress pic.twitter.com/5MaSPf2Jll

It's not just colors; we've evolved to assume where light sources originate, drastically shaping perception #TheDress pic.twitter.com/MffYPo0AAR

While some are just sick of the whole thing already.
Some day your children will wonder: What did people talk about before #TheDress??

But we can all agree that we're never going to all agree on it - not even Kim and Kanye can.
What color is that dress? I see white & gold. Kanye sees black & blue, who is color blind?
