Dublin-based travel photographer Felipe Pitta made a pilgrimage to the city of Tromsø, Norway in February to capture some stunning images of the Aurora Borealis.
"I've wanted to photograph the Northern Lights for many years and Tromsø is probably the best place in the world to do it from," said the Brazilian-born snapper, who has lived in Dublin for the past four years.
"It's in the Arctic Circle but still has the infrastructure that allows you to travel and stay there easily," Felipe told breakingnews.ie.
"I was amazed in particular with one location in a small village called Ersfjordbotn, known by many as 'the Fjord of Light'," he added.
Since returning to Ireland Felipe has edited together over 1,100 of this images to make a stunning timelapse video, set to the music of friend Per Wollen, a native of Tromsø.
"The image sequences were shot in tjree different nights and I also included two sequences from the city of Tromsø viewed from Mount Storsteinen on Fløya, 421 metres above the sea," Felipe said.
"I tried to reproduce the Northern Lights here with their real speed, as close as possible of how I've seen it."
