Dog wants to be friends with little boy, won't take no for an answer

A Labrador tries to befriend a little boy with Down Syndrome, who pushes her away. In friendship, as in life, persistence is everything.

Dog wants to be friends with little boy, won't take no for an answer

This one got us right in the feels.

In a video posted to YouTube last year but coming to light again recently, an Argentinian boy with Down Syndrome shares an encounter with a dog named Himalaya.

Himalaya wants to be friends, but the boy - Hernán, from Buenos Aires - is not usually comfortable with physical contact.

So he pushes her away, and shies from her advances.

Himalaya, ever so gently, persists. She stays close, without invading his space or making him uncomfortable.

And at 3:12, our hearts melted.

In comments underneath, Hernán's mum Ana, who posted the video, explains that while her son doesn't like to be touched, Himalaya's gentle persistance won him over.

"I do not think God makes mistakes," she wrote. "Everything happens for a reason."

Dogs. They rule.

Seriously, you wouldn't catch a cat doing that.
