Cork pro-life supporter John O’Donovan was woken at 3am on Sunday morning by a loud commotion at his front door.
When he went to investigate he found a copy of the Irish Catholic newspaper in his letterbox with the words “Die pro life f**k” boldly written across the front in red ink.
“Just because I’m a known pro-life activist… does that mean that now if you’re a known pro-lifer… that your personal space, your private home is under attack?”
He has reported it to the Gardaí and personally feels that it was a death threat.
“This is trespassing number one, but it’s also huge intimidation and I perceive it personally as a threat to me, my life even."
Donna Rose, a spokesperson for Cork Women's Right To Choose, has said: "As pro-choice activists in Ireland, we are unfortunately very familiar with this kind of behaviour, in fact we recently saw a similar display in the vandalism of AAA TD Mick Barry's constituency office.
"Though bullying and threatening tactics such as this are rarely seen coming from a pro-choice position, it is certainly not something that we condone."
