The couple featured on a No poster are said to be 'appalled' that their image is being used in a campaign against marriage equality.
On a recent trip to Dublin, comedian Jason Manford posted a photo of the poster to Facebook which soon went viral. It was seen by fellow comedian Adam Hills who happened to recognise the couple as friends of his wife.
The image is a stock photo that anyone can buy and use but Hills writes that the couple "are appalled that their faces are being used, without their permission, to promote something they wholeheartedly disagree with."
The post has been shared widely since being posted on social media - and, as you can imagine, has generated a lot of debate. Adam Hills has over 145,000 followers on his Facebook page and over 325,000 Twitter followers.
His post continues:
"Regardless of how you feel about the vote - what a weird, horrible, ridiculous world we live in, in which a loving, caring, open-minded family unit can be used to advertise the very opposite of what that particular family unit believes. If any of my Irish friends see these posters, just know this - the beautiful family on that poster is all for Marriage Equality."
