While most of us may think of the summer holidays as a chance to get a bit of sun abroad, three lads from Cork thought they'd try a holiday at home for a change.
And they were pleasantly surprised.
Brian O'Connell posted a video of their journey around Ireland this summer and he said: "We never expected our own country to be so beautiful."
Brian and his mates, Luke Wilson and Ross O'Donovan-Wyatt, left Cobh in Co. Cork to venture up the west coast of Ireland, dropping in to see the Gap of Dunloe and Dingle in Kerry.
After crossing the Shannon, the lads paid a visit to the iconic Cliffs of Moher and the Burren before enjoying the nightlife in Galway and Sligo.
They then took a drive through beautiful Donegal on their way to the Giants Causeway on the north coast.
There were more festivities in Belfast, including a Red Hot Chilli Peppers gig, before they slowed things down with a stop at Newgrange in Co. Meath.
A trip to Dublin and the Guinness Storehouse rounded off their 1,115km odyssey which they had to cut short because they ran out of time, otherwise the sunny south-east would have been on their itinerary.
Thanks to Brian for sending in the Youtube footage which he hopes "inspires people to travel the country."
