What an adventure!

Cat disappears from home in Belfast and turns up in Liverpool 18 months later

We all know cats can go off on a wander for a few days at a time, but this Belfast cat takes the biscuit by disappearing for 18 months and turning up in Liverpool.

The rescue cat belonged to Julie Blair, who was overjoyed to receive a phone call from Garston Animal Rescue who found the little tyke wandering around Liverpool looking for food.

After checking his microchip the volunteers at the Animal Rescue named him ‘Danny Boy’ as his owner was from Northern Ireland, but the four year old’s real name is Sapeurs Pompier.

Sapeurs has been with Julie since he was a kitten and Julie was delighted to get her cat back after over a year apart.

Julie told reporters with the Liverpool Echo that she had no idea how he got to Liverpool.

Julie, who is a big animal lover and works with an animal rescue charity in her area, travelled to Liverpool to be reunited with her pet.

Nancy Lindsay, who is the trustee and founder of Garston Animal Rescue, which contacted Julie after they found her cat said it is possible ‘Danny Boy’, as Sapeur Pompier was briefly called, snuck aboard a ferry bound for Liverpool but regardless she is delighted that he has been returned to his owner ‘safe and sound.’

Awh! What a nice story!
