Philip Hillman, who was staying at the Charlesmark Hotel in the city, saw that someone had cleared the snow from the area where the Boston Marathon bombings occurred in 2013.

Hillman told the "Today" show in the States: "I thought it was a powerful image when I looked at it. I've been a resident of Massachusetts my whole life.

"For us, that finish line has become sacred ground. When I looked out there and saw that, I thought, 'How cool is that?' I love my city. It just was like, Boston is strong, and even the storm couldn't stop us."

Hillman shared a photo of it on Twitter.

Apparently, two people were seen shovelling the snow away from the area, one of whom was Chris Laudani, a bartender at Back Bay Social in the area.

The Boston Police Department tweeted an appeal to find the good Samaritans.

The owner of the Charlesmark Hotel, Mark Hagopian, wasn't surprised at the development, saying: “It’s the oldest marathon in the world. People take their picture with that finish line every single day.”
