A local koala gave Nikki Erickson quite a shock after she arrived home from work to find it in the middle of her house.
Given that she lives in Woolgoolga in New South Wales, Australia, it’s not unusual to have koalas invade people homes. It is however highly strange to find them looking to use pole dancing equipment.
Nikki’s enthusiastic about pole dancing and had set up the pole in her home to practice for competitions.
Apparently the koala had managed to squeeze its way into her house using a door Nikki had set up for her dog and she found it gripping the pole as she walked in.
Nikki then decided to shoot a video - dated on June 30 - of the bizarre incident as the koala tried in vain to climb the slippery pole.
Posting on Facebook, Nikki was shocked by how calm the wild koala was.
“She sat there while I talked to her and took photos and did not growl once,” said Nikki.
“She wasn’t so impressed with my shiny slippery chrome tree.”
The koala - which Nikki named Larrisa - was rescued from the house by the Daisy Hill Koala Centre.
It has since been released back into the wild.
