Better late than never, we guess?

'Apologetic customer' returns book 67 years late

A woman has returned a library book to an Auckland Public Library in New Zealand, 67 years after it was due to be returned.

The lady - who they say was very apologetic' - borrowed 'Myths and Legends of Maoriland' by author A.W Reed when she was a child and although she was meant to return it on December 17, 1948, she and her family moved and she never got the chance.

The library shared a photo of the book to its Facebook, showing the last date stamped.

Since the book was in pretty good condition, the library decided to waive the fees which must have been a relief to that woman as they would have added up to about €4,000 (if you take into account inflation).

But all's well that ends well and all that.
