US pharmacy group buys major stake in Boots
The largest pharmacy chain in the United States has swooped on high street chemist Boots as part of a multi-billion takeover deal.
Walgreens will initially buy 45% of Alliance Boots with an option to snap up the rest by 2015.
The partnership would mean brands like No7 and Botanics will be sold in nearly 8,000 stores in the US, while Walgreens products will be introduced to Boots stores.
