One of the biggest ever projects in the Irish whiskey industry opens today.
Sixty years after it originally closed its doors, Tullamore Dew is opening a new €35m facility.
Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney will officiate at today's event in Co Offaly.
Tullamore Dew is owned by British drinks group William Grant.
Its managing director Stella David says Irish whiskey has a very bright future in new markets too.
"Markets like the USA where we're growing at about 22%, so fantastic growth" she said.
"The other thing I'd say about Irish whiskey - if you compare it to Scotch whiskey - it's only one-fifteenth the size of Scotch whiskey today, but it's growing very rapidly".
"And there is no structural reason in my view why Irish whiskey shouldn't actually be an equal player to Scotch whiskey in the long term," she added.
