Taoiseach: Irish Water business model will allow for costs to be scrutinised

The Taoiseach has said the business model for Irish Water to be unveiled in the coming weeks will allow people to scrutinise its staffing and costings.

Enda Kenny has also said that the contract for the new utility company will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Irish Water came under fire again today after it emerged that the State could be spending €2bn more than needed on overstaffing the facility.

Enda Kenny told Mid West Radio that the objective for Irish Water is that it would be "an entity to reduce costs and provide exceptional service".
