Taoiseach accuses former Aer Lingus directors
17/05/2006 - 15:24:36The Taoiseach has accused three former directors of Aer Lingus of wanting to steal the assets of the company.
Two years ago the three directors had tried to put together a management buy-out of Aer Lingus.
Bertie Ahern made his claim when replying to a Dáil question from Labour leader Pat Rabbitte on the forthcoming privatisation of the company.
“I'm surprised that Deputy Rabbitte is taking up a view that was opposed by every trade unionist,” the Taoiseach said.
He stated Deputy Rabbitte was defending those individuals who wanted to stage the buy-out.
