There has been a 15% rise in passenger numbers at Shannon Airport in the first half of the year.

The number of people travelling to Europe from Shannon has grown by more than half, or 54%, with nine new Ryanair flights to the continent, compared to last year.

More than 650,000 passengers passed through Shannon Airport in the first six months this year.

UK passengers are up 5% and transatlantic routes are up 11%.
