Passenger numbers at Ryanair are up 16% for the month of April.
The airline says it carried a total of nine million passengers last month, up from 7.8 million the same time last year.
The number of seats it fills on each flight - the load factor - also rose from 84% to 91%.
In a statement, Ryanair says the increases are due to lower fares, better service and stronger forward bookings for its summer schedule.
