Revenue collected a total of €37.87bn in tax during 2013, up 3.3 % on 2012, it was announced today.
In its annual report for 2013, Revenue hailed as a success the introduction of the property tax, saying over 94% of households complied with it last year.
"The Local Property Tax 2013 compliance rate stands at 94% and 76% of returns were filed online," Revenue said.
For 2014 the compliance rate stands at 90% and €319m has een collected.
"The voluntary compliance rates achieved for Local Property Tax in its first year are exceptional," said Josephine Feehily, Chairman of the Revenue Commissioners.
"We recognise and acknowledge the contribution of individual taxpayers and businesses into embedding a compliance culture and the part played by tax and customs practitioners in the achievement of these results."
Receipts for all major tax heads are also up - excise duty up by almost 5%, income tax up by 4% and VAT up by over 1.5%.
Revenue also confirmed that it achieved 35 criminal convictions from non-compliance and took in €548m in auditing and penalties.
