Report reveals Bank of Ireland chief's pay level

The chief executive of Bank of Ireland Richie Boucher remains the highest paid banker in the country, it was confirmed today.

The chief executive of Bank of Ireland Richie Boucher remains the highest paid banker in the country, it was confirmed today.

The bank's annual report reveals that Mr Boucher was paid €910,000 last year. He waived €67,000 of his annual salary, cutting his overall pay to €843,000.

According to the report, Mr Boucher was paid a basic salary of €690,000, pension contributions of 186,000 and other perks, including a car allowance, of €34,000.

The banks' directors shared €2.5m in pay, pensions and fees in 2012, the report shows.

The report also shows that 7.5% of residential mortgages at the bank were in arrears of more than 90 days at the end of 2012, while 15.8% of buy-to-let mortgages were behind.
