Rents will NOT rise by 25% in next two years, says head of landlords' association

The head of the landlords' association has rubbished predictions of a 25% rent rise.

Earlier this week estate agents Savills said prices will go up by a quarter over the next two years.

However, director of the Residential Landlords Association of Ireland Fintan McNamara claimed the rent rise would be much slower than expected.

He said: "I don’t expect rents will go up 25% in the next two years.

"Rents have climbed in many instances, but they needed to because landlords are very heavily taxed and they need the money to meet their overheads."
