Recession deepening in Greece


Greece's Central Bank has said economic decline in the country this year will be even steeper than the 5% contraction predicted at the start of 2012.

Athens is under continued pressure to apply more austerity and there are fears that next month's general election will not end in a clear result.

The Governor of the Greek Central Bank is now warning that the country's membership of the eurozone is at stake unless pledges given in return for the country's latest EU-IMF bailout are delivered.
