Budget retailer Primark, which operates in the Republic of Ireland as Penneys, is to start selling clothes online.

A limited number of items will be available during a trial period through the internet fashion website ASOS.

Primark has so far avoided investing in any online ventures, focusing instead on expanding its presence on the high street.
