Half of Irish working adults who responded to a recent survey claim their workload has increased in the last 12 months.
More than one in three (34%) said that they regularly suffer from work overload.
According to new research, conducted by Berocca in conjunction with Coyne Research in January 2015 among a nationally representative sample of 1,000 adults, 36% of workers say that low motivation negatively impacts their productivity
When it comes to reasons for low productivity almost a third (31%) of women say their lack of energy hampers their work output compared with 18% of men.
As well as suffering from low energy levels, 51% of women say a messy work environment plays havoc with their productivity and 35% of all respondents say they often get distracted by their colleagues, making them less productive.
The research also finds that our mood has a huge impact on how productive we are with nine in 10 saying they noticed a marked improvement in their efficiency when their mood improves.
Commenting on the research, Jim Lawless, bestselling author and international inspirational speaker said: "As Ireland adjusts to the improving economy and increasing workloads, positivity and productivity are key.
"Mental agility is becoming increasingly important too as the pace of living and working continues to speed up. We’re expected to be switched on constantly and clearly we all need some help in trying to remain mentally agile and efficient."
