Finalists announced for 2012 Social Media Awards
The list of finalists has been announced for the Bord Gáis Energy Social Media Awards 2012, wher are taking place in the Mansion House, Dublin on Thursday, May 17.
Dublin Zoo, Marks & Spencer Ireland, Vodafone Ireland, Today FM are among the companies shortlisted this year in some 19 competitive categories.
"Organisers received an overwhelming response to the call for entries this year with double the number of entries received from last year," a statement said.
Over 100 judges were involved in the process of shortlisting entries from over 200 individual companies.
The awards aim to recognise talent in online interaction, engagement and innovation and highlight best practice and importance of social media in business. Avid tweeter and 2FM presenter Rick O’Shea will act as compere on the night.
“Irish companies are successfully integrating innovative techniques through social media as part of their overall communications strategy and we look forward to recognising this success for the second consecutive year," said Digital and Social Media Manager at Bord Gáis Energy Eoin O’ Suilleabháin.
