A large portfolio of receivership properties will go under the hammer in Galway today.

The auction will see a number of investment premises in parts of Galway City, Mayo, Sligo and Roscommon on offer.

The organisers say it is one the largest property auctions to take place in the west of Ireland.

Colm O'Donnellan, from O'Donnellan and Joyce Property Auctioneers said there was a mixture of private and receivership sales., with the latter happening this morning.

"In the morning, there are distressed properties on offer throughout the west of Ireland," he said.
