Lagarde: More needed to resolve eurozone crisis


Head of the IMF Christine Lagarde has hailed recent steps to contain the eurozone crisis as significant, but is warning that "more needs to be done".

During a speech in Tokyo, Lagarde cited measures adopted after a European leaders' meeting in Brussels last week and the European Central Bank's move yesterday to cut interest rates to historic lows as proof of progress.

However, she said that from the IMF perspective, "more needs to be done ...to complete (the reform)".
