ISEQ falls below 6000 landmark

The ISEQ fell below the 6000 landmark in trading again today, falling 18.40 to close the day at 5,991.41.

After two days of recover, overall stocks fell back today. Financial stocks were mixed. While Bank of Ireland shares performed well, climbing 7c to €12.20, Allied Irish Bank's shares fell 10c to close at €16.22.

Shares in Anglo Irish Bank also fell 10c, to €19.40, while Irish Life & Permanent shares edged 4c higher to €13.50.

Elsewhere building materials giant CRH fell 22c to €20, but Cavan-based building group Kingspan climbed 8c to €9.51.

Bookmaker Paddy Power was another climber today, up 7c to €14.02. Ryanair shares crept up 1c to €5.77.

The most traded shares today were AIB, Anglo Irish Bank, CRH, Bank of Ireland and Irish Life & Permanent.
